Spirit of Madiba

I have the pleasure of currently reading Nelson Mandela's autobiography "Long Walk to Freedom." To be honest, I did not know much about the man besides the fact that he fought apartheid and that he and Bono are BFFs.

But as the pages turn and this freedom fighter's voice fills my head, I find myself utterly inspired. He is a man who is very mortal and very flawed (he was consumed with his movement and was admittedly a terrible father) but also superhuman. It was his resiliency that kept him afloat during a time where a system of brutality ruled. It was his spirit that willed him through two years underground and almost three decades in prison.

Although his teachings and passions were political, his lesson is entirely emotional. Don't give up, fight for the world you envision.
