I love to be inspired. I think everyone does, but I am that guy who reads inspirational quotes everyday. But I also get really excited when I find a new hero.
In my reading, I came across a great profile of Gen. Petraeus, the commanding general of the US forces in Iraq. It fired me up.
This is a guy, known affectionately as P4, who is the epitome of an operator. He performs under pressure and duress. He wakes up at 5 a.m. to run six miles every morning. He challenges his soldiers to push-up contests - he has only been beaten once. He is a man possessed with progress, with his men and his mission.
And his entire attitude revolves around one phrase that echoed in his childhood by his tough Dutch father: "Results, boy."
Two words, one big impact.
